Having worked on Dancing on Ice for over 5 years now, we thought it was only fitting to say something as the last ever series and final show draws to a close.
With incredible success since its inception back in 2006, this hugley popular show was nominated for over 13 awards including "Most Popular Talent Show" and "Best Multicamera Work" - winning ‘Best Costume Design” and the "TRIC Special Award" in 2009 and 2014.
With an overall average of approx. 9 million viewers, with peaks of 13 and troughs of 6.32, it was a surprise hit and became the third highest rated television show of 2006.
All our guys have incredibly fond memories of working on the show, from the deliveries to Elstree and Shepperton to the install and support, not to mention the incredible set, staff and crew working along side them.
In relation to the final series, Peter Fincham (ITV’s Director of Television) said:
“We wanted to go out on a high. We have loved every minute of the eight series and we're determined to make our final series the best ever. It has been a real pleasure to work on one of the UK's biggest and best loved entertainment shows, and we are extremely proud of the skating legacy that we have built up since the show launched in 2006.”
Need we say more. We are delighted to have been a part of it.
