2014 marks the ninth annual Tesco Mum of the Year Awards, the most widely-known awards programme of its kind in the UK. The awards honour women who go above and beyond the call of duty to help others and are a wonderful way to recognise ordinary mums who do extraordinary things.
Originally launched in 2005 to encourage Tesco Magazine readers to nominate women they knew, the awards have grown into the glamorous, celebrity-packed event.
The public is invited to nominate mums they consider to be remarkable and deserving of recognition. Mums are nominated by family members, friends, work colleagues and even strangers who have heard about the amazing things they do. The mums are unsung heroines, those that raise money for charity or selflessly help others despite having their own challenges to overcome.
A panel of celebrity judges, key Tesco staff, mummy bloggers and experts choose a winner and runner up in each category from a shortlist of nominations.
