Based on the 2008 disappearance of scandal in which Karen Matthews faked the kidnapping of her own daughter, The Moorside follows the events leading up to the disappearance and the discovery of the young girl.
The Moorside begins with the disappearance of Shannon Matthews, as the local community is brought together by Karen Matthews friend Julie Bushby (Sheridan Smith) who organises a search for the young girl. As the show progresses the themes of deceit and desperation begin to drive the narrative toward its final horrible reveal.
The case of Shannon Matthews was one that shocked the nation and had thousands feel betrayed and disgusted at one woman. The BBC has managed to capture the essence of something truly disturbing and display it in a fantastic two part drama.
Two Avid media composer suites were supplied to the fantastic BBC production. Engineers Gareth Steven and Dan Boast stress tested both suites on site at Hyperactive before personally installing them at the BBC.
24/7 technical support was then supplied to ‘The Moorside’ ensuring that any issues were quickly resolved, making for a smooth and easy post production experience.
