It’s back! Adding a touch of sparkle – and danger - to your TV screens this winter is the seventh series of Dancing on Ice.
Following in the footsteps of previous winners Hayley Tamaddon, Suzanne Shaw, Kyran Bracken, Gaynor Faye, Ray Quinn and Sam Attwater, a new bunch of skating stars will be joining our pro skaters to perform live on the ice each week – all hoping to survive the dreaded skate-off!
Who will win the approval of our Ice Panel and capture your hearts (and votes) at home?
This year, Phillip Schofield will be joined Christine Bleakley to host the series.
Ice-skating superstars Torvill and Dean will once again be guiding our celebrities through every stage of the competition – and performing a number of dazzling new routines during the series.
It's a massive editing operation, constructed in a portacabin village at Elstree Studios, and working all week round to produce the "VT" inserts for the Sunday show.
However, the pressure is really on when it comes to editing the highlights of the main show for transmission at the beginning of the results show. There's just a 1 hour gap between shows to create a VT package of the best of each dance edited together with the judges remarks, interviews with the dancers and comments from the presenters. Thanks to the incredible skill of ITV's editors and the reliable performance of Hyperactive's equipment the result is a remarkably polished edited package. A fantastic example of fast turnaround editing that's made possible with the kit supplied by Hyperactive.
